ADMISSION FOR SEMINARIANS

Seminarians are missioned to Ushaw College by their respective bishop after they are accepted for priestly formation.
The process of application is usually directed by the Vocation Director of a candidate's respective diocese. After a period of enquiry, this process normally entails:
- completion of the Application for Priestly Formation;
- submission of an essay;
- submission of original copies of academic and professional qualifications ;
- submission of four passport-style photographs;
- submission of baptismal and confirmation certificates;
- parish priest reference;
- academic reference;
- employer reference;
- personal reference;
- a medical examination;
- a psychological assessment;
- a CRB check;
- participation in a Selection Advisory Conference at Ushaw College;
- participation in a Bishop's Slection Conference.
ADMISSION FOR NON-SEMINARIAN STUDENTS

- completion of the Application Form;
- submission of a personal statement (part of the Application Form) ;
- submission of original copies of academic and professional qualifications;
- a reference;
- a CRB check for pastoral placements;
- an interview;
- submission of fees;
- an optional submission of a Bursary Request Form.
Roman Catholic clerics must also submit an endorsement from their respective bishop, and Catholic religious must submit an endorsement from their superior. Further information is available from our Course Administrator. |
